Straw People & Holidays in St. Clair
A whimsical fall display of straw people that replace summer flowers in the Memorial Garden. New members bring new ideas and such was the case in 2018, when an idea was offered to add interest to an otherwise barren planting bed. Members share a fun day designing their amusing creations! The community was immediately enamored and St. Clair’s Straw People nestled among pumpkins and cornstalks took the area by storm! The display became a prized backdrop for photographs by local residents and visitors.
In 2024 the Reindeer family appeared, prancing among lighted pine trees in the Memorial Garden. Their arrival coincides with St. Clair’s Santa parade and the downtown lighted extravaganza.
The SCGC pays homage to firs and pines in the annual lighted Santa parade. Our merry members dressed as Christmas trees to march in the parade. Dinner and socializing before this event makes for a wonderful onset to the Holiday season! Become a member and join the fun to support our community and club!
Our second annual spring Maypole celebration takes place in the SC Plaza center court. 2025 date TBD.
And, of course the Garden Walk tours scheduled every other year during July.
